The Real Artist
If I did art just for the money or fame, I would be crushed every single time I messed up a painting or made a mistake. For me, art is a way to share The Real Artist with people who might not know Him otherwise.
Why Is God 'The Real Artist'?
The Bible says in Psalm 19:1, "The heavens declare the glory of God, and the firmament sheweth His handywork." If you've ever seen the night sky full of stars, or a beautiful sunset, or the beauty of fluffy white clouds floating over a bright blue sky, you can understand what this verse is talking about. Look at the variety in the just the sky alone! It's constantly changing, each version beautiful in its own way, each version pointing to the Artist that made it. And God didn't stop at the sky: He made landforms, birds, plants, animals, flowers, oceans, sea creatures, insects, planets, stars, galaxies, and people (Genesis 1:1-31). He is the most creative Being ever to exist; when I create art, all I do is try to copy Him (and let's be honest, there's no comparison!)

When God created everything, He said it was "very good." Then Adam and Eve, the first people to ever exist, sinned, and sin and death entered into the world. This is described in Romans 5:12: "Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned." Romans 3:23 tells us, "For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God." Because God is a holy God, He cannot be in the presence of sin, which means that we as sinners can't go to heaven on our own. "For the wages of sin is death..." (Romans 6:23). We have earned death through our sins, and we cannot save ourselves from it.

BUT... God didn't leave us there. He sent His Son Jesus Christ to live on earth as God in the flesh. He lived a perfect, sinless life, and died on the cross as the sacrifice (the payment) for our sins. "For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son, that whosoever believes on him should not perish but have everlasting life" (John 3:16).

This salvation from our sins is a gift: you can do nothing to earn it, all you can do is accept it. Do you want to know for sure where you'll go when you die? It's simple. First, you admit that you are a sinner in need of a Savior, and that you can't save yourself. Second, you acknowledge that Jesus Christ is that Savior, that He died for your sins, and that He rose again and lives today. Third, you ask Him to save you from your sins and take you to heaven when you die. Romans 10:9 says, "That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved." No strings attached, just simple, child-like faith.

I promise, this isn't some pyramid scheme or attempt to make myself look "holier-than-thou." I'm not perfect, not at all. I wrote this because it's changed my life, given me a peace "which passeth all understanding" (Philippians 4:7), and given me a purpose. I'm sharing this because I want everyone else to have this hope and peace.
